About this business

Come enjoy her beauty and dream of her rich past . . . Located on the Mississippi River between the historic Louisiana cities of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Oak Alley Plantation has been called the "Grande Dame of the Great River Road". We visited with a large school group and had a wonderful experience! Our tour guide, Anthony, was a great story teller and so nice. I feel the kids got a good overview of the plantation’s rich history. And oh those Live Oaks! The whole experience was breathtaking.

Absolutely a must see. Breathtaking grounds and wonderful tour guides. We were freezing when we went, but we just couldn’t leave until we toured it all. We will definitely go back.

I've visited this plantation several times over the past 20 years. Each year the tour gave less and less information and fun facts. This year I visited after the new renovation was completed and I am very disappointed in the overall tour of the home. Many of the period furnishings have been removed and replaced with artifacts of the period. I will not be making this my must see plantation recommendation for those asking or for visiting friends & family. It is a beautiful home just not a good tour.
