Recently moved and went to pick up the keys. The agency is located on level one, with no public access, so you have to phone to be let in. We informed them in advance what time we would arrive and confirmed again the day before. Despite this, we were left standing at the door for around 20 minutes. My experience with this management company has been consistently poor whilst being a tenant for several years. Repairs drag on for far too long, and when someone finally attends, the work is rushed and messy with little attention to quality. There seems to be no proper supervision of the contractors they send out. I’ve never known anything like it when it comes to renting though number one. It’s been an absolute shambles from day one. We moved in to find stuff left form the last tenants everywhere including a half bottle of gone off milk. The same bottle of milk was then added to our inventory on moving in! We were then left with the task of getting rid of all the furniture at our own expense. I let out my property via Number One for over 3 years and wouldn’t recommend their service to anyone. Despite paying for their fully managed service, I ended up dealing with the tenants directly just to get things done in a timely and cost efficient way. At the beginning of the tenancy, I thought I made it very clear that Number One were not to authorise any maintenance without checking with me first, but they still went ahead and arranged a gas safety check using their own contractor.
