Appalling waste of time. Took weeks to get even a phone assessment, Nicola who carried this out failed to listen correctly or properly understand my needs. I was then told to contact IDAS who I have already reached out to 3 times and who told me to speak to my GP who in turn told me to refer to talking therapies. Why are the NHS relying on a charity service? What is tax money for? How are people supposed to get the mental health help they need when the service is dismal at best and basically non existent
I have signed up for their services on September 2024. They've had me completing their course on January 2025 as a preparation for therapies. It is now May 2025 and there has been no progress made since last September. No one checks on me, no one calls me, no one talks to me, no therapies. Nothing.
Absolutely horrendous mental health service. The waiting list is stupidly long to be fobbed off on a self learning platform and then when you get to the top of the waiting list (4 months later), you discover that you can only get face to face appointments Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm. So, good luck if you a full time job and suffer from mental health issues! Very unhelpful staff and made to feel that I had to come out of work in order to accommodate their appointment schedule! So I've been working with these guys for a short period of time and they are lovely, understanding and listen well. The process is incredibly slow however and I started this journey with them late 2023 and it's still going. Started with a group online which wasn't very helpful to me as I've done that before but it was mandatory and then it was a year before I got any 1 to 1. Every single member of staff I've had the misfortune of interacting with here has an overwhelming obsession with interrupting you at every given opportunity. Funnily enough I went out of my way to seek you guys for help, not to be asked question after question and then not being able to get a word in edgeways to respond. Honestly the most abysmal mental health service I've every experienced. Every single person there should re-evaluate their career choices.
