I had been working with my company over over 4 years. We has short term, that got sold out to NY and I never used either until I have a pregnancy with lots of complications. They fought me everytime I needed anything. And actually denied me and had to appeal it many times! When I did finally get a check it bounced and my account was negative! They are completely unresponsive. I have tried to contact my agent or any agent for about 6 months. I am about to call my bank and stop my life insurance payments from the auto deduct to them. I call the customer service phone number and they tell me someone will call me and they never do. They say there is nothing they can help with they just answer the phone. My wife called them just to change an address & phone number. They wanted to charge to do that!! I've never heard of this but it sounds fishy to me.

We have reached out to the client directly on 7/19/21 and 7/29/21 requesting additional information as we are unable to locate a policy/account with the information provided. To date, we have received no response from the client.
Would leave zero stars if possible. My recently deceased Mother had a policy with this garbage company. We notified them within 2 days. It's been nearly 6 weeks and they have not sent my check. They use regular mail, just a stamp, no return receipt, no tracking number. They are in FLORIDA but their company name is NEW YORK LIFE. They refuse to send a new check by ***** or 2 day Priority mail even when I offered to pay the postage. Terrible people don't give them your business!
This Company denies everything. We are getting an attorney because of their constant denials. I would never purchase anything from them again.
It’s a scam company they take your money and then you can’t reach them when you change banks please don’t use them all they do is take your money
Short-Term Disability Claims - needing assistance while struggling with depression - you will have to be mentally insane completely for them to cover it! They will request documentation over and over again that they already have just to prolong the denial. If you aren’t mentally insane, they will not pay short term disability. My mother passed away in January 2019. She had a few policies with NYL. My sister in law signed the change in beneficiary form, dropping me and my siblings and adding my brother as the primary. Clear as day, you could see that it wasn’t my mom’s signature and there was no date or witnesses on the change of beneficiary form.
