I have not been able to return to work since mid-September due to the problems caused by prolonged covid, but this insurance company has not given any clear answer about my situation. My father paid close to $70/month into a life insurance policy with AARP for well over 20 years. In Aug 2022 he received a letter stating the cash-out value of the policy was between 4000 and 5000 dollars. He passed away in Oct. I submitted a claim, and they say there was no coverage. Do not fall for this AARP scam of life insurance, who knows how much money is being robbed thru monthly premiums with this company.

I've been out since September 21st since I had a c-section for my second baby. This was planned so I started the process a few weeks before I was actually no longer working. It took 8+ weeks to get approved. Now it's been 2 weeks and I still haven't received any kind of payment. I call every day multpli3 times a day and no one ever answers or calls me back. Been on short term disability for 180 days now entertaining long term disability due too heath condition. New York Life picked up my claim for LTD through employer. It’s been over 6 weeks. No update, no approval not even a phone call back from case manager. Corrupted company.
When I filed my original claim I gave detailed info from my Doctors and myself and my case manager was helpful and I started receiving my weekly benefits but after about 6 weeks it started taking longer and longer to receive my weekly payment, even though it was issued on the exact same day of every week!! So far it has been 2 weeks since I have received a payment and my bills are still do!! I am sitting here with my daughter who has jumped through hoops with New York Life Short Term Disability for over a month and after endless wait times and numerous voicemails gets a letter in her account saying they have not yet received the faxed information from her doctors. Her doctors have faxed the information 3 times! New York Life has definitely received the information. New York life/*****, they can’t decide what name to go by they can’t pay me. Checks say they have been delivered but I don’t have mine . Case manager ******* will not return calls. Not the best atleast in disability coverage atleast in my experience. I couldn't get approved because I wasn't basically crippling through my condition. They took 2 months just to tell me only this lol. 2 months to deny me. Make sure you have your doctors notate very detailed information, be smart about what you tell your doctors because they will go off of exactly their words like that I can walk just fine and disregard everything else lol and not so much your journey through what you're going through.
