We went with NBKC primarily because their loan officer (Michael Thompson) treated us like human beings. We found NBKC via the Costco Mortgage Program. We approached a couple of other lenders (via the same program) and they treated us like numbers, and gave us an ultimatum to make a quick and uninformed decision. There was no such pressure from NBKC. NBKC got our business (even if the rate was slightly higher than the others) simply because of how they treated us. Bernie made the refinance process as painless as possible. He was alway very responsive and ready to answer any questions I had. He gave gentle reminders as well as any updates needed. I would definitely work with him again.

Mike Y, Loan Officer for NBKC Bank worked on our refinancing. Despite the time difference between MO and HI, Mike was very responsive through the entire process. Add the low APR and fees and you have the best combination. The rating say 5 stars but I give him 10 stars!
