National Car Rental is my preferred provider. The service is excellent and the staff is very helpful. The rates are not bad either.
I travel to RIC frequently for work and have tried almost every rental car company there. I was greeted by a Emerson Club rep who was very friendly. He gave me instructions on where to go pick up my car. Originally I had reserved a midsize car, when I went upstairs to check in the lady was very professional and nice. She said they have plenty of midsize cars to choose from but that they would upgrade me to a full size SUV at no additional charge. She let me pick a Ford Explorer, fully loaded, and very clean. Our flight arrived late to Gateway Mesa (2 hours) there was only one car to choose from - a Volvo, supposedly a luxury car - the car was not clean, did not have a back up camera, no space for luggage, agent would not switch to the Cadillac that was on the lot. Next day had to go to Scottsdale airport to exchange for another car which you could not see out of the front or back window - had to take it to a car wash to get the car and windows clean!
Bottom line is you simply cannot beat the Emerald Aisle experience. Reserve in advance and walk to the Aisle, pick your car and drive away minutes after getting there. Additionally, I have used this location numerous times and have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

It's was so easy to rent and return a vehicle. Being an Emerald Club member made it even more enjoyable, with the free upgrade. The staff was friendly and very helpful after a long day of flying.
Great service! Quick in and out form the airports, reasonable price and great car selection. However I will say that Boston Logan Intl Airport did provide a much better service than Newark, the price was more reasonable and the staff much more attentive. I was also disappointed that when I returned the car that I rented from Newark airport and I found out that I was being charged per mile driven which is something I had never had to deal with when using National previously.
The customer service was great and very friendly, The vehicle was a new model and was very clean, I will use them again!!!
I recently rented a vehicle for almost 2 months for business. I told the agent that I only wanted what was covered through my business account. Once I returned the vehicle and received my final invoice. I noticed that I was charged over 300 dollars for various fees. Make sure you read the fine print and over express your concerns. The car did run smoothly with out any issues.
