Hot happy hour scene and fantastic dining experience – Nakama is worth the trip! It dishes out some of the best food in the city and the happy hour scene is hot AND affordable! I contstantly recommend it to out of town friends, vendors, and consultants that our visiting Pittsburgh. If you've never been you don't know what you're missing and you need to stop by immediately. Don't forget to call ahead for reservations.
Nakama: Customer Loyalty Can't Be Beat! – I've been a VIP member of Nakama since they opened; my husband and I shared the best dinner there the night we were engaged; it's our favorite place to hang out when "you gotta get out of the house". Really fun restaurant – The reason I am writing this review is because I was prompted to by the owner of Nakama---however I cannot be "bought" as many of the previous reviewers have mentioned concerning the $10 gift certificate offered for a good review. I will not be looking for any type of monetary "reward" or certificate. I believe that reviews cannot be all good---just like the Steelers can't win every game! Great sushi and even better atmosphere. The performance is only rivaled by the portions and taste – I visited Nakama for the first time on my birthday, and I was thoroughly impressed. The show was fantastic, and the meal was even better. They brought me a pineapple with sparklers flaring, while everyone at the table sang happy birthday to me. It was a great time. I was surprised at the portions, too. Normally, restaurants skimp on amount of food, but not price. Nakama prices are reasonable, given the amount you get to eat.
Buying Reviews and ruining the spirit of this website – I also received the email offering $10 for a positive review. I'm really appalled by how many people allowed themselves to be bought by this email and ruined the spirit of this website. I've been to Nakama three times. My honest opinion? Hot--Hot--Hot – I think the whole $10 certificate thing is being blown out of proportion. It was to serve as an incentive in exchange for validation, evaluation, and an invitation to share a positive experience at the restaurant.
