Worst dentist I have ever been to, I was treated as an NHS patient by some Indian lady and she honestly is the most disgusting human being I have ever encountered and the worst most unprofessional dentist I have ever encountered in my life. AVOID AVOID AVOID IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR TEETH TO BE RUINED. IT'S A SHAME I CAN'T GIVE NEGATIVE STARS
All dentists' practices, have very lovely reception staff.
I am sharing my personal experience as an NHS patient. When I first attended around four years ago, the dentist was pleasant and professional. Over time, however, I felt her communication became condescending, particularly when I asked questions or expressed concerns about treatment options. Dentist (Mr Pretorius) told me my two broken teeth were too far gone for crowns and that I’d have to just live with them and eventually have dentures. A private dentist gave me two beautiful crowns and said he could not understand why I’d been told that. My theory is that they didn’t want NHS payment for a big job! Whatever the reason, he was wrong and they were not beyond crowning.
The staff are always very nice. I just find there is a focus on trying to sell you more products and make the appointment more expensive. Previous dentist/hygienist appointments have (repeatedly) offered services I do not want (whitening / tooth straightening etc). On this occasion I attended the hygienist for a clean. Previously this cost 80 pounds and I went for the standard clean when offered the more expensive options (there is a tiered cost difference). Today I wasn’t given the option.
