This place has gone WAY downhill. The picnic tables were dirty and in disrepair. And we could not eat the pizza my grandson ordered at the back shack at the picnic tables????? What is that about????! The tenderloins were not good at all. Paid $7.00 for a large order of cheese balls and got about a dozen. We decided to try the indoor dining and that place is FILTHY!!!!! Had a great tenderloin sandwich and onion rings on my way through Indy. It was delicious and well worth getting off the freeway. Not sure why others had such a bad experience. L found them to be courteous and quick.
Been coming here for 30+ years, never had a problem until today. Parked, turned on my headlights for service (as the signs say) and was ignored for over 10 mins. Other cars pulled into spots and someone came right up to them. Finally, one waitress looked over at me and I put my hands up like "HELLO?!" she comes over and I asked; should I have parked somewhere else? I've been sitting here for 10 mins. The best tenderloins & onion rings ever. Only place I know that still serve great cherry cokes.
Coming in from out of state, I had never heard of Mug N Bun, so I never knew what I was missing. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced, and the root beer was hands down the best soda I have ever had. I bought a gallon of it to bring back home to Pennsylvania with me, and am not quite sure how to cope with it when my gallon runs out. If and when I return to Indiana, Mug N Bun will be a must-stop during my trip.
