Been in twice in the last month and both times no manned checkout. The atmosphere around the self service tills is grim, twice now the staff member was herding people and clearly some customers were confused by the whole experience. If it'd been once I'd have forgotten about it but twice, well that's now normal for it and I definitely won't go in there again. When other supermarkets are bringing back more manned checkouts M&S need to do likewise because quality shopping shouldn't be like this.
There were no manned checkouts when I visited this M&S store this afternoon. People were forced to use the self-service checkouts instead. However, there are often problems with these machines. I put the items I intended to buy back on the shelf. I won't shop at this store in future. It's a cynical way to operate a business and disrespectful to cucustomers
Great place to shop, got everything I needed and the environment was clean and tidy
