If you haven't eaten and enjoyed wine in the 1865 Wine Cellar you have not been to the best dining experience in New Hampshire.
Breathtaking views of the White Mountains! The resort itself is well kept and authentic to the period to when it was built. Room was comfortable and well appointed. Windows did rattle with the wind. Food and service in the dining room was hit or miss. Most food came out lukewarm. Chicken wings were the best. Service was painfully slow for breakfast, took up to 45 minutes and there were only 2 full tables in the dining room. Bartender was good. Good selection of beer on tap. This is our 5th year coming to MVG we love it. The staff is so wonderful, spectacular views, beautiful rooms, delicious food a truly a wonderful place !!!
Best hotel I've ever stayed in from the people that worked there to the amazing view of the mountains the rooms were perfect bed comfy dinner and drinks at the bar fantastic the bar tender was great drinks were mixed perfect all around the staff made us feel like we were at home I wish I could have stayed longer I will definitely be back this summer
A beautiful retreat when you need to get away from civilization. My only regret was bringing a couple of teenagers who did not appreciate the splendor and tranquility. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, the staff was attentive and friendly. The only complaint is that considering the hotel is nestled away so far from everything, they should offer more in dining options for the entire family...perhaps offer a restaurant with a lees formal setting and that is not as pricey. My fiancé and I stayed for the first time last night. We LOVED it. From the minute we walked in the front door, to the time we checked out, their hospitality was top notch. The place is HUGE and just so beautiful. And that bed! I haven't slept that good in YEARS! It was so comfortable. It was really cool to learn about the history of the resort too. Came for a family wedding. The staff and facility are amazing. Will be recommending to family and friends.
We love it here! We come up at least once a year, every season has outstanding views of the mountains. Something for everyone activity wise and the property is always immaculate.
