Peaceful and Lovely....my personal happy place <3.
Been going there since the late '40s and always enjoyed my browsing the store, talking with hikers, and visiting with the staff. It used to be the starting point to hike up Blood Mountain, but they changed it to a less crowded start point a short way away. Hiking Blood Mtn in winter is a real treat - try it, you'll like it.
Our first real off trail stop. Loved everyone there! They helped us immensely. We actually zeroed a whole nother day, camped out back.
