Great place, great people and service and on the trail with beautiful views!
I stopped in at this amazing store/ hostel on one of my backpacking trips on the AT. I love the store. They have everything you need to hike. From clothes to food. I even got a hot pizza baked. The hostel is a comfortable place to get some much needed rest. The prices are great. I will defiantly be back again.
After living there 4 years I had a great time,1961-1964, we ran the restaurant there that seated about 150 people,, The motel had 6 rooms with 2 double in them $8.00 for 2 people. Of course we couldn't stay there in the winter,, So late fall we would pack upand move back to Atlanta,, and move back to Walasi-yi in the Spring.....Last time I was there was 1964 with me and my family.. I'll be back one day to show my wife where I worked and lived as a 13 year old eventually 16.
Great place with great people and they can help with all of your equipment needs!
