This place is awesome!!!! They have everything you could ever need for hiking. They are really friendly and knowledgeable, and helped me mend a broken hiking pole. THANKS!!!!
Absolutely love Mountain Crossings. So much fun there yesterday with the thruhiker kickoff party! Jason helped my husband and me fit our first backpacks several years ago and he is still working there. Great place to shop and hang out on the patio.
The essence of the AT along a single ridge. Just a hidden dream of a place in between mountains. Get all of your gear and a pack Shake Down before a handshake. You can camp here or stay in one of their hiking lodge bunks for almost nothing. Don't forget to check out their VHS collection if you stay the night.
One of my favorite places to visit. I used to come here as a kid and was always fascinated with the NOBO hikers. I have several pictures of me and my siblings as kids in front of the beautiful Mountain View. I decided to bring my husbands grandmother and Aunt here to show them and they loved it too. I don’t know what I did wrong but the staff at the register must have been having a bad day or simply didn’t like me. No interaction and he didn’t even bother to put my purchases in a bag. I walked out carrying my T-shirts and hat in my arms. This was supposed to be a high point of my trip but it was disappointing due to the crummy treatment. The store was great and the nostalgia was very interesting.
This is a great spot! A great variety of outdoor gear, tourist treasures, snacks, etc. Offers a wonderful meeting area for hikers on the Appalachian Trail, bikers getting some miles in, leaf-lookers in the fall, etc.
