Great first time experience. Food was phenomenal and atmosphere was classic New Orleans. I enjoyed the world famous Ferdi po’ boy (thin sliced glazed ham and slow roasted and pulled pot roast) dressed with lettuce, tomato, pickles and dripping in homemade debris au jus. Dr. Wife enjoyed the homemade baked spaghetti and outrageously delicious fudge brownie. Very reasonable prices for the quality and generous portions. We shall return!

Soggy veggies. Uninspired flavoring. I mean is just salt creole flavoring? Very ordinary. With an old run down kinda place with a lot of history in the middle of New Orleans Downton you tend to expect that the reason it exists is because of great food. Not so. I had their signature baked ham plate. I hope other places in New Orleans wow me with their food while I'm here.

Business response:

Roshan, our vegetables are stewed in the Southern tradition. Our turnip greens, cabbage, and green beans are all cooked down. Red beans, grits, and potato salad are all wet dishes. We season with more than salt. We take great pride in maintaining the original look and would not change a thing.
