Great Food! The Debris Sandwich and Red Beans and Rice are the best.

All I can say is OMG! The bloody Mary is delicious!
Many meals at Mother's. The Debris po boy is to die for. Had late breakfast with my wife for our Anniversary visit to New Orleans. Eggs done right, excellent grits, tasty ham, and the bicuits were made to perfection. The staff, many who have worked at Mother's for years, were friendly and attentive. Gonna work my way through the menu in the future.

I waited in line for about 45 minutes down the block to get inside this New Orleans landmark but well worth the wait. Great cooking and a neat southern feel and the people that worked there really seemed to enjoy their job which is great.
More than a tad overrated.... When it comes to places like this the question is food or landmark? Can't tell you how many people recommended it but I think it's safe to say, and granted I only visited once and had an omelet, that the food is fine and Hardy and plentiful.... But nothing to write home about
