En spændende guidet tur i huset og særdeles dejlige omgivelser.
It was an interesting history tour. The foundation is doing a great job of preserving and restoring the estate.
I took the house tour and the slavery tour. Both docents really knew their stuff and I learned a lot. The grounds and home are impeccably maintained.
Liz Marshall gave a remarkable tour yesterday through through the main house. Her blend of history and context as well as additional information to help tell the entire story was great. She even ended the tour with UVA's Good Ole Song, sharing the joy and pride that TJ and all who attend UVA feel about Mr. Jefferson's University. It was the best tour I've even been on at Monticello! A must do when in the area. Thanks Liz. It was an awesome day !
I was disappointed to find that the only way to see anything was to purchase overpriced tickets. We had 4 in our group and $90 for a tour was entirely too much. You need some cheaper tickets for the budget conscious tourist that would love to at least catch a glimpse at the house and take a few pictures. It's sad that one has to pay excessive amounts to view our historical places. We left without ever seeing anything other then the gift shops and the bathrooms.
Enjoyed it but wish you could take pictures inside.
What a beautiful tour of our great father Thomas Jefferson's plantation and home. Even though it was raining hard if still shines in our hearts the history our fathers lived.
Beautiful property, rich...somewhat scandalous history, informative tours. I took my 9 and 15 year old and they both enjoyed the day, with a side stop at Michie Tavern for fried chicken!
REPERATIONS NOW! 600 Africans for one white family? ... this isn't a democracy, the last candidate to win the popular vote LOST! It's a capitalist economy, established as such, and demonstrated daily in today's America
