Family has been dining at Monterey House for years. Consistently great food and fast service. Owners and Managers have been there since I was kid. If you want to avoid the chain restaurants, Monterey will not disappoint.

Im am so mad ugh went to Monterey House on eleventh street to eat my friend and I got water and I carry tea flavor in my pocket we used it and we had already checked out and was backing out , This lady runs out and said ya had tea and didnt pay for it!!! We explained and SHE WAS SO RUDE AND TOLD US IT WAS NOT ALLOWED AND BETTER NOT HAPPEN AGAIN! Excuse me but what did you just say??? .I WILL NEVER SAT FOOT IN THAT PLACE AGAIN !
I remember the delicious food when I was a kid, it's still my fav Mexican restaurant :)

Simply amazing. I'm from Houston and love coming here with my girlfriend on weekends. It's well worth the drive.
Wish it still had the mexican candy in the chips... Loved this place since I was a kid... Disappointed they don't at least sell the candy or some mass produced version of if at register.

Well, we DO carry some delicious pralines. The candy is very difficult to find & we don't want just ANY candy, we want the true wonderful sweetness of our dear Leche Quemada. As soon as we find an excellent replacement we will shout it out to everyone!
