Beautiful jelly fish in the aquarium This aquarium is considered the best in the Bay area. The price of the ticket is slightly over-priced. And the package ticket for family (unlimited visit for one year) is over-priced too but it is worth it, if you visit more than 2 times for the whole year. After paying for the family package, they will send monthly newsletter to the member. There isn't much fastansic benefit for the member because you have to pay almost everything for their events and the average price is about $30 per p... read more
Monterey Bay Aquarium This is a fantastic place to visit. There is never enough time to see everything completely. My highlights are the otter exhibit, the kelp forest exhibit, and the touching pools. I love looking at the jellyfish and the sand dollars. The gift shop has clothing, books, puppets and othe stuffed animals and a great selection of other gifts.
Best Aquarium Around If you want to see sea creatures then the Monterey Bay Aquarium is where you should go. Unlike Aquarium of the Bay at Pier 39 this one is full scale with 2 levels of exhibits. They have touch tanks downstairs and one upstairs. They have a special kids area too where kids can play with boats and get really wet.
Worldclass Experience The Monterey Bay Aquarium is probably one of the most famous aquariums in the world, and for good reason. It fully lives up to its reputation as a repository for some of the most beautiful and exotic creatues in the ocean. It's understandably a tourist trap, but the grounds are large enough that crowding isn't too much of a problem. Be sure to go see the otters. The only downside is it's cost, but the experience is totally worth it.
Jellyfish for Sure! See the jelly fish, Beautiful!! My kids love it!
Truly a world class aquarium We love the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The exhibits are beautifully designed and the large tanks are impressive! Personally, I love the jelly fish exhibit and was fortunate enough to be there when the great white shark was in captivity. The best part is that they continually add to and evolve the exhibits, keeping it interesting! PROS: beautifully designed CONS: a bit pricey
An Underwater Adventure You Don't Have To Swim To Experience As a sea life enthusiast, I have frequented places such as Sea World, that house large numbers of sea life creatures. I was impressed however by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The price may seem a bit steep to some, but I assure you that the price is very much worth it. Local hotels in the area of the aquarium offer not only discount tickets, but also discount coupons to this wonderful aquarium. If you really want to learn about the under water world during your trip t... read more
Whenever I'm in the Monterey area, I always try to head to the aquarium. A fabulous place to bring the family or even out of towners who are visiting. Lots of exotice fish to see, educational events to join in on, staff is friendly and wonderful. It is in a great location on cannery row near all the stores and restaurants.
Beautiful! Gosh this aquarium is simply amazing. We took our two babies and even they had a good time. Make sure you stand in the little cove where the water washes over you. It is SO neat!
