Mont. Bay Aq. Absolutely beautiful very informative and entertaining for the old and the young. Great for family gatherings and school field trips The mission of the non-profit Monterey Bay Aquarium is to inspire conservation if the oceans. We fulfill our mission through marine life exhibits, conservation research and educational programs, including free visits and programs for nearly 90,000 school children each year. Underwater exhibits of life in Monterey Bay; touch pools, educational programs.
Fun for the whole family! The Monterey Bay Aquarium is by far the best aquarium we have evr visited! The exhibits are astonishing. You can literally spend the entire day and not run out of things to see! From sharks, to starfish, to ducks and sea otters, there are so many animals and fish to see! There is always a friendly volunteer around to answer questions and point out interesting things about each exhibit. They have the absolute best childrens area too! The kids can get hands on education. They have water games and even... read more
See the Jelly Fish!! Be sure to see the jelly fish, they are Beautiful!!
Monterey Bay Aquarium I really liked the Monterey Bay Aquarium and have gone back again and still found the place very appealling. The parking garage is a few blocks away from the aquarium though which was probably strategically placed there so visitors are forced to pass by and be enticed by all the little shops that line the streets heading to the aquarium. Other than that this is a great place to take the whole family.
Good but Expensive It's a nice aquarium with unique exhibits, but it's not much in the way of what you'd usually expect from an aquarium. There aren't many sharks and it's just not very big. It's a unique experience but if you've gone to other good aquariums you could probably just skip this one and spend more time at the local beaches and parks.
No other compares! We love the aquarium, and our kids love it too! They especially have fun in the splash zone where they get to hold the crabs and pet the starfish. There are so many cool exhibits, and some beautiful views of the ocean.
World Class Aquarium located in historic Cannery Row down in Monterey. This huge and modern zoo is amazing. Im not a huge aquarium fan, but this had a nice mixture of plants, fish and education. Parking is a hassel, have to park a ways away and walk. Its in a tourist area, so have to pay. Not that cheap to get in either. The kelp forest and jellyfish exhibits are amazing. Its all well done. Most of the exhibits are geared towards local life, which may disappoint some who are looking for tropical things and such. Big enough t... read more
Fantastic views Fantastic views, especially the jelly fish. Be sure to walk along the seashore to see the baby seals.
Best Ocean Aquarium They have just renovated the aquarium and it is even better than before. The jellyfish exhibit is amazing! And the Octopus! A story about the trout stream--Dave Packard built this for his daughter and he was an avid river fisherman. Originally the aquarium was to be only pacific ocean envionments but he wanted a trout stream. So they put one in depicting the freshwater streams that feed into the Monterey Bay and made the aquarium a living ecosystem of the local Bay habitat.
