Great Aquarium Monterey Bay Aquarium is in a very cute section of Monterey right by shopping and restaurants. The aquarium itself is pretty nice and seems to be pretty new. They have a lot of exhibits and even shows. It's perfect for children! I did think it would be a lot bigger, but that could have been just my expectations. I really loved it there though and so did my husband.

Like Nothing You've Ever Experienced Before! Enter a whole new world. Pet sting rays and see the place where a great white actually survived for 6 1/2 months in captivity for the first time ever before being re released! Visit the Splash Zone and check out the penguins! Watch fish swimming in circles over your head. Touch animals you never thought existed! Get closer to the ocean.

Definitely world class. Monterey is a beautiful area in and of itself, but we always make it to the aquarium when we visit. You can go outside and see the natural tide pools, and the jellyfish are the most amazing. You can't imagine all the different shapes, sizes and colors that these come in. It's really an unbelievable experience. It is a little expensive, but I think you can get discount tickets on Costco's website.

Take the kids or just yourselves! My husband and I love to visit the Aquarium. They always have wonderful exhibits to enhance learning experiences for all ages. They had a special shark exhibit the last time we went, complete with a 3-D underwater/shark movie.

a must-see in Monterey bay I've been to many aquariums in the country, this one is one of the best. It has a large variety of different species and is designed in a way that is both entertaining for adults and educational for kids. The newly added jelly fish exhibit is totally out of the world.

Don't miss it! If you're going to be in the Carmel, Monterey area, do yourself a favor and don't miss this attraction. The first thing you should do is the 17 mile drive. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is a close second. Adults will love the intricate marine life knowledge that you'll gain from viewing the exhibits. Children will love the many hands-on exhibits available. The place is also not too big, so you don't need to spend a whole day here. Two hours should suffice for most. There is no designated parking lot, so you'll hav... read more

excellent exhibits and education This aquarium was a great early date for my husband and me and now it's a great place to take our kids. We love the jelly fish room, the outer bay exhibit, and the 2 storey tank where the diver feeds the fish and talks to the crowd. The kids play areas are very well designed and keep the kids entertained for hours (too bad they don't offer babysitting...just kidding). Anyways, they also have information on which fish are okay to buy/eat and which species are being overfished. It's not a bad d... read more

Monterey Bay Aquarium One of the few working research centers that doubles as a world-class tourist attraction. It's like walking into a 3-D version of your favorite nature show. Walk among ocean birds, find treasures in an indoor tide pool, stroll under a crashing wave or through a kelp forest. See life through a sea otter's eyes. A magical place to spend a day. Great even for toddlers.
