A little late to comment, but I want to make it clear that Montefiore Hosp has the worst medical care I’ve ever experienced. The physician team in the operating room was great; everything after was like third-world care. Nurses missing-in-action, hours in-between checkups, techs who didn’t know why I was there, uncleaned bedpans by my roommate, and so on. I made sure to let them know in the follow-up survey that their patient care was inferior to every other surgery I’ve had. And unfortunately, I’ve had too many of them.
Staff isn’t friendly and the hospital is out dated,very small and dirty.
answer your phones - i was on hold for a half hour trying to make an appointment before 4 pm. this is unheard of.
im in the e.r. as i write this message and on a whole ,for a hospital,this place is filthy from the corridors to the bathroom,absolute mess. there is literal trash on the floor in the waiting room and there is an unpleasent odor to match. why is it this way in an enviornment that is supposed to promote and practice the exact opposite of what i see? i believe there is an agenda in all inner city hospitals and this is part of it,lack of respect for facility and patients where the majority are "black" or "hispanic".
staff was respectable. my mom expired there after being revived in ambulance. very nice, professional and apologetic. parking is difficult

Psychological department at Montefiore is a joke! DO NOT BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME GOING HERE!! After waiting months for my appointment (even though they claimed they'll call and make an appointment within 2 weeks) I recieved a call asking to come a day sooner and I agreed but I made it very clear it is imperative I leave by 11am to pick up my daughter. The receptionist assured me it will be arranged. I arrived at 9:47am and signed in. At 10:15 I asked what was the hold up and was told my appointment wouldn't start till 10:30... read more
