I have never come in contact with such a wonderful group of doctors, nurse and family support specialists. Not only did they care for my son but my family as a whole. They had toys for my older children to play with and all kinds of different activities throughout the day for them. A sibling playroom for a large part of the day and more. They had all kinds of comfort items for my son that I wasn’t able to bring from home to make his stay better and the surgical team was awesome. 55 years ago today I was one of the first people to have heart surgery at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Was told I wouldn't live to be 32 or have children. I will be 63 in June and have a wonderful son ROBB BOWMAN , an awesome grandson KAYDN KING and a grandbaby due in March. Dr. Collins probably is no longer living. Thanks to VANDERBILT HOSPITAL, AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION and the MARCH OF DIMES for making this happen. Most of all thanks to GOD.
18 1/2 years they have been taking care of my son. He is alive and kicking because of the awesome cardio team.

Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt has our total respect for the wonderful care they provide for their cardiac children. They are such caring people with top-notch professionalism! It feels so welcoming and safe for the care of our baby with CHD.
yeah because they are nice people and they care about kids my son is going to go back there again next month to see a surgeon doctor
