blahhhh – I think this place has a lot of personality and is obviously loved by many but I was far from impressed with their food. The wine we had was ok, but everything from the salad, bread to our main courses and even dessert was nothing special. The cesar salad had no flavor and the marinara pasta sauce was very bland. I was very dissapointed as I had high hopes for this cute restaurant.

Worst Ciopino I have had to date. – I just had ate the Ciopino at Mona Lisa. Since they have a show kitchen, I watched as they made it. I was very suprised to see them cook seafood for 1/2 an hour. When the Ciopino arrived, it was so cooked down, I had to add my entire 16 oz glass of water to it to make it edible. The seafood was way over cooked. At $25.95, it's the most expensive Ciopino on Columbus. As a Ciopino lover, this is one of the worst I have had.

Great service!!!!!!!!! – All I have to say is DELICIOUS, the food is out of this world! The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and the staff is really superb, especially the young couple (I believe they are married...)that often wait on me. I am a regular and look foward to everytime I get to go to Monalisa. Try it, I know you'll make it your favorite place to dine too. Mike

Average Italian, below average service... – The pesto gnocchi I had was good, but definitely not as good as other restaurants I've eaten at in North Beach. Service was okay initially, but the server slacked when it came to the end of our meal. He never came back to ask us what dessert we wanted and never checked back to see if our wine was okay. I don't plan to ever go back because of the average meal and slow service. The best thing going for them is the outside seeting on a nice sunny San Francisco day.

Average in every way – First I have to comment on the people who say this is the best Italian they've ever had. I'm so sorry to hear that! You guys are missing out on some wonderful cuisine! This place is very average. All the typical Italian sauces and pastas. Nothing that stands out. My food had a piece of fuzz in it, which bothered me. Would I go here again? With a shrug of the shoulders--Yeah, I guess so. I liked the atmosphere and the service was very friendly. It's a shame that this is one of the better restaurants in ... read more

Mona Lisa makes memories – When my husband and I were first dating, we stumbled upon Mona Lisa one night and it quickly became one of our favorite restaurants in SF. Two years later, on the night he proposed to me, he first took me to Mona Lisa because he knew it had such a special place in both of our hearts. The food is great (especially the gnocchi), the atmosphere is warm and promising, and the servers are always endearing. We love Mona Lisa!

The Best Restaurant Experience Ever – From the moment we walked in to the place, we received nothing but great service. We were seated promptly and made to feel at home. The menu was huge; it had great variety, along with very reasonable prices. I ordered the four cheese ravioli, which was the best ravioli I've ever had! My friends ordered grilled chicken and penne in tomato cream sauce. I had a taste of each and they were cooked perfectly. This place really perfected the art of cooking. Not to mention the waiters never let ... read more

Great Restaurant! – From the hospitable person at the entrance, to the prompt service, general atmosphere, clean restrooms, reasonable prices, everything called us back to this restaurant. We went three times in four days, and had each time two courses meals. Excellent! I would highly recommend it. Florin Tiru

Free bruschetta for the tourist – Luckily, there were only 2 or 3 other parties when we went around 3 in the afternoon on a Saturday. The host offered free bruschetta for us tourists and made decent wine recommendations. I would recommend a pasta dish with seafood, even if you're alergic to the stuff (clams, mussels, calamari, prawns, etc.). Nice and interesting artwork inside as well.
