A taste of Italy in SF QUICK!! Think of ANY type of pasta off the top of your head...any type! I can almost guarantee you that Mona Lisa has it. I have been here many times and I've yet to find something that I don't like. Maybe I'm an old fashioned Italian girl, but I like my dishes to be simple. Mona Lisa gives me that. Out of this World Pasta We came across this restaurant in San Francisco and will be coming back forever. The atmosphere is incredible, very old world Italian, the servers authentic and the clientelle, very interesting. The pasta is some of the best I have tasted and the wine list is extensive. The salad and soup are simply divine and the menu selection leaves you speechless. Wonderful restaurant for date night too.
Mona Lisa I absolutely adored this restaurant! The atmosphere is so unique and with the Italian servers and singing it is so romantic. I had a delicious risotto that was so yummy. My favorite was a mango sorbet that was served in frozen mango skin and sprinkled with sugar. They serve all their fruit sorbets in its actual fruit. It was very reasonably priced and perfect for a romantic dinner. I can't wait to go back.
Best Italian food By far our favorite place to eat Italian food in North Beach. The pasta's are honest and very good. Grilled salmon with spinach is by far my favorite non-pasta dish.

A pleasant surprise We were with an out of town guest walking down Columbus looking for a good place to eat when we were accosted by a man in the doorway of the Mona Lisa inviting us to come in. Normally I find that sort of thing off-putting, but our friend was taken in by it and so we obliged and went in. I was very pleasantly surprised. Authentic Italian We found this place while walking down Columbus. We loved the atmosphere and the food was very good. The Italian cuisine was authentic and plentiful. A nice selection and friendly staff make this a must try in SF.
five stars for atmosphere We saw this restaurant while driving by in a tour bus and just had to find it again. We walked for many blocks and it was worth it. The atmosphere is cozy and great. Food was excellent.
Worth dealing with the tourists Although I like to stay out of the touristy parts of SF, Mona Lisa restaurant in North Beach is worth the hassle.
