Started a job of installing stairs and took over a month for a job that I have had quoted since should take only 2-3 days. He did not even complete half of the job, and left it unsafe as no bannister on the top of the stairs. He took almost full payment from me as he said he needed it for materials, and as soon as he took the money he walked off the job and ceased all communication. The work is shoddy to say the least. Before engaging with this company, please take the time to visit Companies House to research the filing history of Midlands Stairs & Joinery, the history of the director Nigel Hayes and his previous insolvent businesses. The information is clear to see and will help you make an informed decision on whether this a person and company that you would trust your money with. Thankfully I made these checks before my partner placed an order. My advice: avoid.
