About this business

Serving splendid Italian fare, Michelangelo is a popular dining spot for locals who like to relax in its hospitable ambience and linger over a plate of pasta or a warm bowl of soup. The Pollo Fiorentina made from chicken marinated in Marsela wine and cheese, Burrata or garlic bread with cheese and the classic Spaghetti and Meatballs are traditional favorites. The bar is cozy and serves a good selection of wine that perfectly complements the food. The staff is friendly and makes the diners feel at home in the venue. Michelang... read more

Good in the past but horrible now!!! – I used to LOVE this resturant before it move location.Good service great food small and romantic. Now u are lucky if you can get a table. It's always busy and the hostess doesnt make thing better, she is rude and just doesnt care unless you know her. Finally after waiting 2hours for a table when my food arrived it was cold and the server didnt come at all to offer water or ask if everything was fine. So i never could complain because it seem like no one cared. THEY WERE SO RUDE. NEVER wi... read more

No Thanks – "I am the biggest supporter of local, family owned joints in Silverlake. This little town is a mecca of wonderful ones and I love it! Unfortunately This one has greatly disappointed twice. First time was at the old location in the village and now the pizza we just had delivered tonight was a distant 3rd to frozen. I am bummed because the new spot looks so inviting and romantic. I wanted ti to be spectacular, but it was anything but."

New location thinks they're the hottest spot in town...apparently. – My husband and I regularly got delivery from the original location, and when we saw them move even closer to us, we decided to try to dine in one night. Only problem was, every time we would call for a reservation, they would nearly laugh at us over the phone as if we weren't good enough to eat there. My first attempt was two weeks after they re-opened. It was 5pm on a Saturday when I called to see if they had any availability for 2 people around 7:30 or 8.... read more

I am sorry to say new staff and new location don't add up. – Let me start by saying i am not happy to give a bad review. My husband and I were regular's of Michelangelo's for years at their old location and I wished nothing but success for them at their new site and was very excited to see how busy they always were. My family was in this past weekend and we thought it would be a good idea to go there for dinner. We called at 6 p.m.to get a reservation, we were told they had a table for 6:30. We all loaded into the cars and h... read more

Our "Spot" – My boyfriend and I absolutely adore Michaelangelo's. We used to walk there when they were located on Silverlake Bvd, and were devastated when they lost their lease. Where would we go for romantic dates?? Where could we go where people would remember us and welcome us with hugs?! We no longer had a "spot"! Much to our delight, the new Michaelangelo's is even MORE romantic, with even MORE wonderful items on the menu! He loves the eggplant parmigian when it's on special (put it on the menu, guys!!) and I fell in lo... read more

Great authentic Italian food- from a New Yorker – I have been going to this restaurant since they were in Silverlake and it is the BEST Italian food in Silverlake/Los Feliz/Hollywood. As a past New Yorker and visitor of Italy, this is one of the only Italian restaurants that I will eat at in Los Angeles. The restaurant is run by a family- the grandma, her sons and daughter and now their grandchildren wait tables. They are all so nice and accommodating and work really hard. The pasta is very good and the ambiance is wonderful... read more

A defininte Favorite! – Michelangelo's is gem! I have grown up in Silverlake and I never had dinner there but much to my delight I finally tried it at the new location and I thought it was wonderful and charming. Not a huge Italian food fan but I am a huge fan of good food and quite picky about service and freshness and it gets high marks for both. The food is fresh and delicious and comes out piping hot. It takes more than a flash to get your food because they pay attention to make sure that it is perfect and I never mind w... read more

"Like Papa used to make," with great service and ambience – We had been regulars at Michelangelo's old location, and wanted to see how they fared in the new digs. Bravo! Now they've got the space and the ambience to match the food. It's a pleasure to be greeted by the family, who takes real pride in their creation. The night we were there, I had their Ahi tuna special, cooked to perfection with an array of herbs and vegetables and the arugula salad, wondrously fresh and tart with lemon and olive oil. Other guests enjoyed the... read more

I am sooo happy they are back! – This is a great restaurant!! It has been a Silverlake institution for over a decade, and I have been a patron since it first opened. It has great food, a lot of charm and it epitomizes everything that is great about a place that is family owned and run. I have had some of the best meals I have ever eaten at this restaurant. Yes, you may be seated faster at the olive garden, and you may get your food faster at Tony Romas, but that is not what Michaelangelos is about. The owners are friendly an... read more
