About this business

I believe it is very important to have a careful evaluation looking at the patient both clinically and biomechanically. There are many different forms of conservative treatment, which if possible, should be performed prior to surgical intervention. My extensive surgical training has allowed me to become a leader in the advancement of Foot and Ankle Surgery. My publications include but are not limited to topics on flatfoot reconstruction, ankle instability, and high arch reconstruction.

I came to Dr. Maskill with left ankle joint issues. He determined it was being caused by hardware i had installed 20 years prior. Him and his team are super helpful and friendly. Could not have been happier with outcome! HIGHLY recommend.

As a competitive athlete, I was reticent to have a talonavicular fusion at age 40. I wanted to continue competing within my age group in triathlons and feared the surgery would ruin this. After contemplating surgery for 4 years and obtaining 4 'second' opinions (Rush, Indy, SBO, OAM) I chose to have the fusion with Michael Maskill. One week after surgery I was in the pool (with a waterproof bag over my cast). 2 months after surgery I was on an indoor trainer. Seven months after the surgery I began running. 1 year after my su... read more

I am a very particular person first off and I was recommended to see the Dr. by a nurse cousin of mine and I have to say he is probably my favorite Dr. that I have ever had. Every recommendation he has made I have followed and considering what I did to my ankle my recovery is very good. Follow up visits he always listens to my concerns and helps me make decisions based on my life rather than just telling me what to do. Personable and just seems like an all around nice guy. The nurse that did the recommending says his medical... read more

I was born with Cerebral Palsy and walked on my toes on my right foot. A few years ago I started on the journey to find a doctor who would complete the surgery to flatten out my foot. After being turned away by so many well known hospitals I was referred to Three Rivers Health desperate just for something to ease my pain. That's when I first met Dr. Maskill. My first visit he was so confident that he could help me and honestly I was just in shock. I have now been through three surgeries but can say I never thought I'd be abl... read more

We were referred to Dr. Maskill by an Orthopedic Surgeon. Upon meeting Dr. Maskill, we were immediately impressed by his personality and communication skills. He presented all my options after doing his examine and left the choice to me. I elected to go with the foot surgery even though I am not one to be "grounded" for any length of time. Surgery was done in Portage and I had zero issues. It was not fun being in a cast for 8 weeks and then a boot for a month, but I survived. I have no regrets about having the surgery and we... read more

I went to Dr. Maskill for a horrible ankle fracture I had due to slip in fall. I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon initially, however after speaking to several individuals, whom all recommended Dr. Maskill I decided to go see him. Dr. Maskill made me extremely comfortable about and surgery and what “realistic” outcomes to expect. The surgery and recovery went as he described and I am back to my normal self. Dr. Maskill and he’s staff were awesome to work with and extremely help during this time of my life. Thank you for ... read more

I went to Dr. Maskill for a second option on an Achillies rupture I had sustained while playing basketball with my kids. He was able to see me in clinic immediately and preformed surgery the next day. I am so thankful I had this done right away, six months out now and starting to get back to my old self. Dr. Maskill and his staff are amazing!! Thank you for everything!!
