I had a very unsatisfactory experience with Dr. Haque. After breaking two fingers on my left hand after falling during a hike, Dr Haque recommended surgery. Unfortunately, I truly believe I came out of that surgery worse than going in. My fingers which weren’t crooked before the surgery are now permanently crooked. I also have nerve damage and severe loss of range of motion. I always wonder what would have happened had I not had surgery or had a different surgeon.
I saw Dr. Goldsmith only once, upon referral from my primary doctor. It was a very unsatisfactory and unsettling appointment. No matter what I said, even when I was quoting another doctor, he came down on me as if to prove I had no idea what I was talking about on any subject. If I told him what other doctors had found and how they found it, his reaction was that they were probably incompetent, and he would only trust his own findings. I have been a longtime patient and moved to Maine, but I still am coming back to him for my regular check-up and care. He has successfully treated my frozen shoulder and meniscus on my knee -- without surgery. He is friendly and provides details about injuries and gives a range of treatment options.
I saw Dr. Buchalter when my ortho surgeon was out of the office and I had to remove the sutures. After a 2 hour wait, the doctor came in, and the only thing he asked was why I was seeing him when I had another doctor. After I explained, he said okay, left, and never came back. A nice male nurse carefully removed the sutures and I was told to make another appt, not to see the doctor personally, but to see his MA. Very rude and dismissive. I will not go to him again.
This doctor repaired my torn ACL and meniscii but left me with arthrofibrosis (excessive scar tissue causing a stiff knee) based on his pre-and post-surgery plan of care and surgical technique. This condition is entirely preventable but very debilitating if it occurs. I had to undergo another surgery (this time with a knowledgeable expert), adding significant time and cost to my recovery. This was my first visit to Dr. Goldsmith for worsening, focal, low back pain. His staff was excellent, everyone I interacted with was friendly, communicated well, and answered any question I had. My wait was minimal. Dr. Goldsmith listened very carefully to my description of my symptoms, asked good clarifying questions, and then walked me through the X-rays and pointed out the pathology I have and explained the treatment options.
