Dr Hsu operated on my Dad for colon cancer. He was very thorough in explaining every step of the process and not only did he do an AMAZING job during the surgery he also took great care of my Dad in the hospital post surgery. Dr. Hsu not only an excellent surgeon but a caring and compassionate doctor, addresses your concerns and explains procedure in detail. On March 1, 2024 he performed a laparoscopic sigmoidectomy, the result was perfect and no colostomy bag with no major pain. I could not have asked for a better result. He visited me every day during my 5 day hospital stay and made sure everything was going according to plan. First I want to thank his secretary. For always getting back to me immediately and having such a lovely personality. Dr. Hsu really helped me to feel at ease. He Answered all of my questions. I was visiting St. Augustine and found myself in the ER facing an appendectomy. As is the case, I went with whatever doctor happened to be on duty and lucky for me it was Dr. Hsu! Before I even met him many of the hospital staff mentioned that if they had to have surgery, they'd choose Dr. Hsu. When we met just prior to surgery he was friendly and answered my questions. Dr. Hsu may not have saved my life, but he saved me from a colostomy! He successfully repaired a nasty fistula caused by diverticulitis. What should have been a three hour surgery turned into double that but he did not give up. In addition to his surgical skills, he is kind, personable and compassionate. Great staff, too. I would recommend him highly and will never use another surgeon, heaven forbid I need one.
I went to Dr. Hsu's office regarding my Ulcerative Colitis, i had been dealing with it for 6 years and no medication had worked. I had been taking pills and even infusions trying to just manage it, and nothing helped, so I was taking pain medication and going to the ER every other month. after seeing him my first time we discussed the surgery options and within a month or two we decided and i was scheduled for surgery.
