In March 2011 "Mi Patria" opened becoming the first and only Ecuadorian restaurant in Des Moines. Owner Cesar Miranda (Ecuadorian) with more than fifteen years of experience in the restaurant business, accomplished his dream by bringing the aromas and flavors of his country to Des Moines. One of the best meals I’ve had in my 3 years living in Des Moines. We split a Mi Patria for 2 with a side of empanadas. Portions were huge, the steak was absolutely amazing, and the cost was well within anyone’s budget. I’d give it 6 stars if I could.

This was a nice surprise that Des Moines should be enjoying more often. Unique authentic flavorful food. I had the pulled pork with rice and a small salad with it and corn. It was very good. everythingeverything had its own unique flavor, and it went well together. I also had some of their homemade salsa which was not hot but had lots of flavor. I would highly recommend this restaurant the service was excellent and it was very clean.
