In March 2011 "Mi Patria" opened becoming the first and only Ecuadorian restaurant in Des Moines. Owner Cesar Miranda (Ecuadorian) with more than fifteen years of experience in the restaurant business, accomplished his dream by bringing the aromas and flavors of his country to Des Moines. This place is phenomenal!! I ordered a mojito, llapingachos, and some fried plantains. Everything, and I mean everything, was delicious. I left full and happy. The waiter who attended me had superb customer skills. He was very sweet and friendly. I’ll be stopping by more often 😋💕

I ate here for my birthday and it was fantastic. The cheese empanadas are easily in my top ten tastiest Des Moines foods. The portions are huge and the service is exceptionally kind and helpful. Everyone around me seemed happy to be there.
This was my first Ecuadorian cuisine experience and honestly being a vegetarian, I did not expect that I would even have enough options. But I was in for a surprise. They have quite a lot of vegetarian friendly dishes which tastes great! Will definitely visit again!

This is my favorite restaurant in Iowa. I love food from South American countries, and this is by far the best in the state. It is a spiritual experience every time.

Delicious food. Not too packed when I was there, around 5p.m, sat quickly and got our food pretty quick. Very filling and delicious. Not too spicy either. Will be going back again and I can’t wait! I recommend to anyone!
