Dog nappers – After a day of hiking with my dog our friends and I stopped for a nice cold beer, not being able to bring the dog on the grounds (to our surprise) we parked in a shaded spot and left the windows unrolled several inches. Great Food, Lame Server – I have gone here for lunch a few times and thought the food was excellent! Plus the decor is awesome...fits in well with the area. I really liked the tofu burrito and there was so much I couldn't even eat it all! The service was mediocre, and I had the same server both times. He was unenthusiastic and clearly didn't want to be there. I'm not going to judge a place on one server who's having a bad day, so yes! I definitely recommend Six Arms!
Great Spot on the Eastside – I think people need to take into consideration with this particular spot that it is inside the hotel at Edgefield making it unpredictable when it comes to availability since they have the lodgers as well as walk-ins (we've always made reservations in advance). The food is great - and they make most everything there rather than getting it out of a can like so many restaurants. Could be great if anyone there gave a darn – This place is basically a lovely, sprawling compound of little bars and places to discover. They also offer free music most nights of the week. Add in their own wines and beers and it sounds like nirvana. That's what I'm always hoping for, anyway, but it never works out. Most of the staff acts as if they're too hip to be bothered, and your presence is an inconvenience to them. The wait to be seated is always ridiculous in the pub, even when I can see empty tables. OK food, AWFUL STAFF – I had the worst experience here. The service was terrible and rude. Our party of 6 waited 25 minutes for our drinks. The server approached the table and called my friend "very rude" with no cause. At that point I went to speak with the manager, who was also the barternder?? Not a good plan.... She was no help at all and put her hand in my face and said "let me talk." Very strange and terrible experience. They really need to clean house with their staff and start again!
Beware of the shrimp! – I had a very strange experience at Edgefield this week when I decided to have lunch there with a friend. First of all, I called the day before to make a reservation at 11:45am. I was put on hold for about 3 minutes and when I finally spoke to someone and asked for a reservations for 2, I was told that there was no room available. Free pool from 12-5pm – Great pool tables.....1- 9 footer and 1- 8 footer.....vintage brunswick with simonis.....great backroom setting
Fun and great beer – any McMenamins property is fun. they all have great beer. Lovely view, mostly prompt seating, good service. Once in a while the food is over done, and i would not recommend the fish in any way, I had halibut there that was foul smelling and dry. But for a quick burger with friends, or their great cajunized tater tots, definately!
I agree – Live close by. This place is clean but the wait staff is unorganized and confused and very understaffed. I tipped them out of pity. They were not that cute or nice. The food was cold and unappetizing, I waited an hour and a half after it took the staff almost 20 min to come to my table, only after I went to the bar and asked for service.
