Pampered All Day – My 4 gal pals and I booked a morning massage and facial and then decided at the last minute to finish our afternoon with a pedicure and manicure. It must be said that Willow and Danielle have hands from God on the massage table. Amber and Cynthia pampered us from start to finish while we enjoyed a glass of the house Merlot. Great, great way to spend your day. Thanks Ruby's Spa!
good idea but needs improvements – thin walls in the hotel allows you to listen to everyone doing everything. crowds of loud 40-somethings devolving down a few notches in the food chain. i guess what else do you expect when there are bars around every corner and in every little room on the property. not a good place for a quiet getaway. i wouldnt recommend staying there, but find someone to be a designated driver and go have have fun for a night.
great place to relax – My wife and I loved touring the grounds. Great art, fun atmosphere. Good beer. Okay food.
Going down! – I used to love this place for years and used to go there at least twice a week but my last 5 visits were simply the last because, the rooms are old and they stay old, broken beds, no hot water and it takes forever to get a service, the receptionists are slow and taking phone calls while talking to clients; the food is the worst, simply childs play unless its over $25 then dont bother cause you will throw up, the drinks are fake and the wine glasses are barely 4 oz, brak fast belw zero, lunch is not worth it AT ... read more
Rethinking Mcmenamins – So I have been going to Mcmenamins for 7+ years (hotels and restaurants) and lately in the last few years there food quality and restaurant staff have been subpar. My husband and I just got back from the GL for our anniversary and decided to do the Hammerhead package. Let me say that Mcmenamins has okay bar food but to spend 20+ on a steak and then receive it over an hour later and it be cold, and seem as if it were sitting out on the hotplate with dry mash was unexcusable. FANTASTIC FACIAL – My friend had recently recommended Ruby's Spa to me after telling me about a facial she was given by a young blonde man named Charles. I was curious to see what all the fuss was about, needless to say I was absolutely impressed from the moment I walked in to the unique touches it has in every nook and cranny from gold accents to painted faces on the pipes. Wonder why employees are as they are.... – Hows this for kicks. A Gal that worked at Ruby's spa did a service on a gal that was getting married the next day. After the service the client mentioned to the spa worker that one of her finger nail had broken. The spa worker said if you can come in early I will fix it for you. The client came and was treated wonderfully. Her nails were done and prepared for her wedding she was estatic. However once management heard what the spa worked did they FIRED her on the spot. What A Waste Of Beauty. – The grounds rock, the art is fantastic, the beers are up to standards with other mediocre micro-breweries... however: What does it take to get a HAPPY, speedy wait person or good food at this place?? This is somewhere you take your out-of-town guests because it's "so cool." That's about it.
