Another McMenamins production, theThe Black Rabbit Restaurant & Bar is located within the Edgefield accommodations. Northwest American cuisine is the highlight of the menu, with some rather unique specialties such as the Wild Boar delicacy, the New York State with marsala sauce and pulled pork sliders. While fresh ingredients from the resident farm are used in the dishes, it would bode well to ask the server the daily specials and soups for some of their best offerings. To go alongside the traditional preparations, there are... read more

If you can't have fun here, then you need to relax – Sure some of the staff seem a bit aloof, but the eclectic variety of places to relax and drink some beer/wine/spirits, combined with a consistently good rotation of live music and a number of other activities, makes Edgefield a great place to spend an evening. You can sample some wines and enjoy some tunes. Have a beer and a cigar by a fire in a cozy brick shed. Not to mention shoot some pool, play some golf, visit the glass blowing studio, sit out on the patio, watch a fl... read more
Straight pimpin at Edgewood – Scoring Big @ Edgewood with Tony T-Money and the Crew: This rocking place kept T-Money and the Wrecking Crew kicking it like Tai-Bo all night long. T was kind enuff to leave his credit card and pick up the tab for all the sweet honeys! We thought we lost him in the cleavage of Miss California but he survived, yelled "cut me Mick!" and went in for the TKO! Gino was ready to front the bail money, but T-Money was all good. Fortunately you can buy enough beer to please a posse at McMennamin's withou... read more
Great location This is a great historical place to stay. Very interesting estate to stay on. It is know for the Black rabbits that hop on the grounds. It has old charm to it. The bars and winery are great as well. Great artwork is desplayed on all the walls. Lots to do, why leave when you have dinner and a movie at your fingertips.
Dog nappers – After a day of hiking with my dog our friends and I stopped for a nice cold beer, not being able to bring the dog on the grounds (to our surprise) we parked in a shaded spot and left the windows unrolled several inches. We went to the downstairs bar for bad food and NO service to return to our car with the dog MIA Turns out a concerned citizen notified a staff member because our dog is a whiner, which notified the human society-rather then taking a minute to look for the owners. Being from out of town and it be... read more
Cool place to stay or grab a bite This is a great place to stay, have a wedding or just pop into the pub for a bite. They have something going on all the time. They have a yummy pub and the grounds are beautiful
Great Spot on the Eastside – I think people need to take into consideration with this particular spot that it is inside the hotel at Edgefield making it unpredictable when it comes to availability since they have the lodgers as well as walk-ins (we've always made reservations in advance). The food is great - and they make most everything there rather than getting it out of a can like so many restaurants. I've had excellent service, and some that left a little to be desired, but again that can be said for most places. This is... read more
Great Pub Love dropping in here when we are in the area. The grounds with all the flowers and shrub are beautiful. Big tables and lots of room to sit and enjoy beers with friends. I recommend the Mac and Cheese, just yummy.
Very fun hotel This is a fun place to stay. Most of the rooms are European style with the bathroom down the hall. Interesting murals are painted everywhere. The grounds a large with great gardens and lot of places to get a drink and listen to music. The hotel is often full so plan ahead.
Could be great if anyone there gave a darn – This place is basically a lovely, sprawling compound of little bars and places to discover. They also offer free music most nights of the week. Add in their own wines and beers and it sounds like nirvana. That's what I'm always hoping for, anyway, but it never works out. Most of the staff acts as if they're too hip to be bothered, and your presence is an inconvenience to them. The wait to be seated is always ridiculous in the pub, even when I can see empty tables. The food is just... read more
