"Smyrna Bakery" was opened in the late 1940's by Howard McEntyre Sr. in downtown Smyrna on Atlanta Road. The business was certainly a family affair as sons Howard Jr., Louis, and Wilson all worked in the bakery as well as Howard Sr.'s wife, Granny. After "Smyrna Bakery" closed in early 1954, Howard McEntyre Jr. opened the current "McEntyre's Bakery" in late 1959 which was also located on Atlanta Road in Smyrna just a few miles from the original store. we ordered our son's smash cake for his first birthday on 3/20. he loved it, and so did we! This had to hands down be one of the best cakes we've ever eaten. we also bought several other pastries as well and have enjoyed each one of them!!

This place just makes my mouth water when I walk in the door! Fabulous donuts breads and cookies but really good take out dinners too! Really great friendly staff!
We shop here 2x a week for the past 10 years. Best bread, cookies, cake, chicken salad, egg salad..list goes on. And staff are extremely friendly.
McEntyre's provided the cake for our wedding and we loved the taste of the cake and how much cake we got! They were very easy to work with, and provided a tasting for us. She explained different flavor combinations, and talked us through different options. We decided to go with: a two tiered brides cake with one tier being strawberry marble pound cake and the other tier being normal pound cake, a red velvet groom's cake, a carrot cake sheet cake, and a strawberry marble pound cake sheet cake.
