"Smyrna Bakery" was opened in the late 1940's by Howard McEntyre Sr. in downtown Smyrna on Atlanta Road. The business was certainly a family affair as sons Howard Jr., Louis, and Wilson all worked in the bakery as well as Howard Sr.'s wife, Granny. After "Smyrna Bakery" closed in early 1954, Howard McEntyre Jr. opened the current "McEntyre's Bakery" in late 1959 which was also located on Atlanta Road in Smyrna just a few miles from the original store. Hands down the best bakery I have ever encountered.
Love this bakery! I have ordered several cakes from here and they never disappoint! Elizabeth is extremely helpful and professional, ask for her when calling in your order �
We typically buy birthday cakes for our kids here every year and stop by for the occasional treat or lunch. The cakes and treats are always delicious! My only suggestion is to include the cake server with the cake. C'mon, we are paying a premium price for premium bakery items. Work that $1 in to the price of the cake. Otherwise, you look like you're trying to nickel and dime your customers, especially when every other bakery or restaurant who caters includes the serving utensils. I feel this is a given.
