An old marquee bearing the familiar name hangs over the corner and shows the way to this long-standing Jackson favorite. Guarded by a pair of grumpy Greek brothers, the requisite long counter with its vinyl spinning stools make this greasy spoon as authentic as they come. Grab your own spoon to ladle generous portions of pork, beef and chicken bathed in thick Southern gravy. Open late by Jackson standards, this is a great choice for those whose business keeps them downtown until late evening.

This place is an institution! The BEST seafood away from the coast. Fresh food great service and full of charm. I can't wait to go back!
Best redfish I have ever had! Always great service! My husband and I will be back soon!
Great stuffed shrimp. Festive atmosphere. Been in business for 85 years!!!
Great service! Top 10 on my list of Jackson restaurants
the broiled red snapper was superb!
Fabulous food! Recommended while on a business trip and loved it. Went back twice!
Worst meal I have had in my journey. Ordered the large Greek salad and got a small plate of iceberg lettuce 2 olives and 3 small chunks of feta for $12. My wife had shrimp and scallops for $18 3 med size shrimp and small scallops and a small dish of vegetables. &2.50 for a bottle of 6 oz coke and no refill. Awful value. Don’t waste your time and money. Any self respecting owner let alone a Greek person would be ashamed to sell this BTW had to go to Wendy’s after to get a decent meal. At least there you know what you’re getti... read more
Great place. I’ve been going there almost 40 years and the food is as great today as it was the first day I ate there! My most favorite restaurant!
I think I've visited the best in my travel schedule and then I discover Mayflower Cafe on my own, no less. The length of time in business is quite a fete and the nostalgic charm of the actual venue, the delicious food, speciality items and the staff explain why this jewel of a restaurant has enjoyed longevity and is a place to go out of one's way to visit.
Mayflower Cafe has a 4.2 star rating with 628 reviews.
Mayflower Cafe is closed now. It will open at 9:00 a.m.
