My son was recently hospitalized for dehydration and we received the best care. Dr. Hartwigsen and her nurse Kelly at McFarland pediatrics were very thorough, gave excellent care, and were extremely kind. Dr. Syring was our hospitalist who was very kind and attentive, our nurse Kailee went above and beyond, and our pct Kelsey was wonderful. Something special about Mary Greeley Medical Center is that they discharged me with a thank you note for being their patient. I expected a generic blank card they milled out to everyone, but no... it's signed by several nurses with actual messages written on it. I thought it was very touching.
On my first visit to the Emergency Room (Feb. 17) I arrived around 1 p.m. The ER was extremely busy with a massive car pileup on I-35, and numerous issues with individuals falling on ice covered in a layer of fluffy snow. Helping with the wonderful doctors, nurses and receptionists were many from the Mary Greeley administrative team, who were assisting on their day off. Mary Greeley’s ER saved my husband’s life! Went in with “suspected Heart burn”. 37 yr old!! Healthy, active adult! Normal BP, No High Cholesterol. Vitals were normal, heart rate normal, EKG normal, very bad chest pain. They ran one last test. Checking the troponin level! It was elevated! He was having or had a heart attack. Admitted! Needed Double bypass surgery ASAP! If they had not ran the last test, he would have died!
Went in the night of Jan 30th with severe right abdominal pain. Since my family has a large history of kidney stones and gallbladder removals, we wanted to make sure I wasn't just experiencing indigestion. Turns out it was appendicitis! I was admitted and had surgery the next morning. Dr. Vanderberg was thorough, answered all my questions, and made sure I was comfortable.
