3 months after surgery, I’m so happy to have have put my worries aside and had it done. I feel better now than I can remember feeling even before my arthritis began. I believe this is because the whole process of surgery, pre- and post- surgical care and exercise is designed to make you stronger and actually healthier than before. Dr Shekhman and the whole team are very thorough, kind and competent. I would definitely recommend Dr. Shekhman and the Bone and Joint Institute to someone considering hip replacement.

Dr. Mark Shekhman was my surgeon on both my full hip replacements. I am 4 weeks into my second full replacement. Fully back to my professional career pain free and walking normally. Dr. Shekhman changed my life. Excellent manner and is no doubt one of the very best in his field. I did a lot of research before choosing my surgeon. I could not have made a better choice. I am a Broadway professional now completely pain free!! Recovery was quick and my condition was severe.
From start to finish have only great things to say. Total hip replacement 2 1/2 weeks ago and already walking over 2 miles a day. Excellent staff, very professional and friendly. Along with the excellent Bone and Joint Institue, Force app, his staff and the results, couldn't be happier. Looking forward to years of pain free activity.
After much research and preparing myself with the start of weight loss program I finally saw Dr. Shekharm on September 3rd. I knew I needed hip replacement in both hips. He was excellent! Took his time and answered all of my questions. I knew I would have to be on a wellness and health program which helps with the state of mind and your physical being. We put a plan in action. Dr. Shekhman replaced my right knee totally in 2017 and it has worked well allowing me to walk. However, my left knee has been a problem for a couple of years. In May 2020 Dr. Shekhman did a partial replacement of the left knee. Since then my left knee is pain free and I can walk everywhere I want to go. I hike in the woods, walk over uneven ground and do not have any pain. I have not fallen because my balance is great now. To me it is a miracle, thank you Dr. Shekhman.
Dr. Shekhman was very rude and condescending to me. It was clear that he finds overweight patients beneath him. At one point he even called the doctor that had operated on my knees a rude name and made a very unprofessional "joke" that he changed hospitals more than he changed wives! If you are even the slightest bit overweight, do NOT see this doctor. He was so insulting that I left his office in tears.
