My mother went to see him for her severe hip and back pain and he dismissed her and told her that she needs to go back to work. She's a City bus driver and told her that he wishes he had an easy job like her to sit down all day. Unprofessional, rude, no compassion. Furthermore, he told her that my mother's orthopedist does not what he is talking about regarding her condition. Stay Away from this Doctor!

Second hip replacement by Dr. Shekhman and his support team. The whole process was smooth and seamless. A patient portal was integral to the success, providing videos and exercises customized to the need. Highly recommend engaging in a visit and perhaps surgery if needed. Worth every bit of time invested to be able to walk painlessly within 2 weeks. Thank you to all involved.

The surgery was successful and the physical therapy, both the home visits and the other visits to the physical therapy unit on Western Blvd, that followed the operation was affective.

This Dr is a piece of work my wife went to see him because of knee pain she could barely walk he told she shouldn't miss work, they sent her to physical therapy before giving her an MRI keep in mind she's in serious pain it takes her 5 minutes just to go upstairs. To see my wife in this much pain breaks my heart. They didn't even give my wife pain medicine. If you are in severe pain and you need immediate help for your sake avoid this man.

Spent about 45 minutes with me. Laid back, knowledgeable and nice. Surgery went great. Bone and joint is fabulous.

Rude, opinionated, and dismissive - the precise qualities you do not want in any physician.

Dr. Shekhman replaced my hip the end of June 2022. Prior to my surgery, he explained everything and gave me an opportunity to ask questions. I never felt rushed. Of course, I was a little nervous, but he was reassuring and the surgery and healing went perfectly. I saw him right after surgery and he showed me the xray of my implant. Everything went much easier than I expected.

3 months after surgery, I’m so happy to have have put my worries aside and had it done. I feel better now than I can remember feeling even before my arthritis began. I believe this is because the whole process of surgery, pre- and post- surgical care and exercise is designed to make you stronger and actually healthier than before. Dr Shekhman and the whole team are very thorough, kind and competent. I would definitely recommend Dr. Shekhman and the Bone and Joint Institute to someone considering hip replacement.
