He is a good surgeon and I have almost full ROM of the R knee However his bedside manner leaves a great deal to be desired. He is rude and has no bedside manner. He had me in tears more than once and was not kind nor was he supportive. His office staff however is wonderful.
From initial consultation through post-op office follow up, Dr. Umlas proved himself to be a professional, exceptional surgeon. Explained, in detail, everything to expect from my hip replacement surgery, including providing me with requisite written material, and information concerning the implant itself. Wonderful and professional staff, including hospital personnel and nurses that oversee your care while in the hospital. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
I had a total right hip replacement on May 24, 2016. Less than 3 weeks out I'm walking around without any aid or pain.
Dr. Umlas is an amazing surgeon. My knee was not an easy knee to operate on. His office staff is excellent. Dr. Umlas visited me on rounds in the hospital. The fantastic part is that even on PT inpatient and outpatient dr Umlas gets reports. Dr. Umlas is always with the patient. You can call his office if there are any problems. Not a complaint in the world. Dr. Umlas will operate on my other knee!! Marilyn
After suffering with hip and knee problems for a long time, I researched the best doctor to fix my problem. Every resource and doctor told me that Dr Umlas was the best. They were all right! Dr Umlas is a brilliant, gifted, and professional surgeon. He was very supportive, caring, and involved in every aspect of my surgery and recovery. No one likes to have surgery, but if it is necessary, Dr Umlas is the BEST choice! I am now without pain and leading a normal, very active life thanks to him!
Dr. Umlas is extremely knowledgable and competent. When I was having very bothersome wrist pain he did a quick exam and in seconds knew I had a ganglion cyst that had been previously misdiagnosed. Helped me right away in understanding the best course of action. Also has a great sense of humor! Highly recommend Dr. Umlas for any ortho needs.
Dr.Umlas did THR on my right hip 10 years ago! Just had it checked,it has not moved 1 mm in 10 yrs! I would give 6 stars satisfaction if you had that rating! James Clifton
I walk, play tennis, and conduct a normal life, thanks to Dr. Marc Umlas.It was 2.5 years ago, I smashed my knee cap into gravel - due to a freakish slip and fall injury. Within 2 days, I was IN SURGERY, WITH GREAT CARE, under Dr. Umlas; personal supervision. I spent 2 months in a wheelchair, and another 2 months on crutches. To this day, going strong: NO PAIN, NO ISSUES. I walk again....Thanks Dr. U...it's all about the U !
Forget this ill-mannered sorry excuse for a Doctor. Never once looked me in the eye. Was short,rude and acted like I was wasting his time. Many degrees on the wall but obnoxious with no bed-side manner. Told him my knee hurt and his answer was loose weight turned around and walked out of the examining room.
