Average surgeon with below average manners and attitude. I had to fly to New York hospital for special surgeries for consultation regarding persistent pain post total hip replacement that Dr. Umlas dismissed as none of his concern.

Dr. Umlas has a long and proud history in his profession, education- and practice-wise. I know him for several years. On my latest visit I was taken a back as he appeared rather fragile. Rachel, his wife and assistant, was very caring toward me and him, as always, but I worry that he is still up to perform these rather dramatic surgeries. He is a one-of-a-kind practitioner and I am sure he knows best when to retire. I am writing this with empathy and best wishes.

Earlier this year Dr. Marc Umlas determine that I needed a hip replacement surgery. Because of the pandemic I delayed the surgery enduring a lot of unnecessary pain and discomfort . Since the surgery on August 18, 2020, I have no pain, I was able to walk immediately and within a couple days start to go up and down steps to the second floor on my home. Gave Umlas three tries and he failed miserably on all counts. To say he has no bedside manner would be a gross understatement. If you remember Alec Baldwin saying "I don't have a god complex, I am god" pretty much sums up this doctor's manner. Aside from this, his whitecoat is no longer white, it is slovenly dirty, as re his sneakers. This causes a trust issue with me. Last visit he said I needed a hip replacement immediately. Dr Marc Umlas is a brilliant surgeon. He performed total hip replacement surgery on my hip on August 8 and less than four weeks later I am walking unaided! He is supported by a truly professional front office staff who were always available to assist me. At every pre and post surgical meeting with Dr Umlas, he explained and discussed my treatment in a manner which inspired, and continues to inspire, my confidence and extremely high regard for him.

Doctor Umlas saved my life. He took on my case after every other doctor refused to take care of me. He is an expert in hip surgery. I walk now thanks to the doctor. Every time I take a step, I think of him. He is the chairman of Orthopedic at Mount Sinai and went to Harvard

I have sufferred from knee pain after another doctor in South Florida did a knee replacement. I saw several doctors and chose doctor ulmas. He fixed my knee and i have absolutely no pain. I am very happy

Explained the shoulder pain, likely cause and treatments. Extremely knowledgeable and talented to treat the bursitis. Clearly cares. Gave cogent answers to all medical questions. Took as long as I needed to answer questions. Very capable doctor.
