Specialties We serve Angeleno style Mexican food in a lively atmosphere. We make all of our food and cocktails by hand, with fresh ingredients. We are one of the few restaurants that welcomes large parties. History Established in 2003. We are the antidote all the "big plate" Mexican restaurants in town. And a step up from the taco trucks, with a nice place inside to sit down and enjoy a cocktail with a few friends.

great place all around! – Don't listen to the detractors! Malo es muy muy Bueno! I've been eating at mexican restaurants all of my life. I love mexican food. This place is THE BEST MEXICAN food that I have ever had! Their habenero salso/chips, the diablo shrimp, el Pastor pork, ground beff & pickle tacos, their lobster tacos or chicken dish (i forgot the name of) is some of the best food! I eat there 2-3 times a week. Not to mention that their margaritas are THE BEST in town probably because I'm told it's fresh. Regardless i... read more
fitting name – it took an extremely bad eating experience for me to write my first review. let me start with the only positive, the bartender had a good knowledge of tequila. we waited over an hour for our meal. nothing special, shrimp yukatan, "yellowtail" tacos and al pastor tacos. we tried to order drinks a few times in the interim but the waitress kept walking past us, when we finally got her attention and ordered it took them 10 minutes to bring us our shots of tequila. my shrimp was nothing fantastic, the tacos were co... read more
Awful wait staff but good food – The waitress was very scatter brained and pretentious. She didn't know what to recommend off the menu and couldn't speak to vegetarian options at all. We took some menu risks and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food! Someone in the kitchen knows their stuff!
upsetting experience – if this is a mexican restaurant, then i donot recomend it. Maybe another kind of restaurant but Mexican..... never. even the water taste very bad!!!!!!
Greatest chips and salsa in LA! – Before dinner, hit the bar next door, get the freshly prepared chips and salsa, you won't regret it. The fried banana was less than average, I won't recommanded. But, overall, great place for a first date if you want to impress your date by showing her or him you are not the typical "LA trash". Great drinks, great taquitos, can't go wrong.
Ole! – If your looking for a fun place to eat and have drinks, this is the place! I went there with a group of friends after work and were not dissappointed! They make the chips to order and the lobster is out of this world. Whether you live nearby or not - it's worth the trip.
terrific food, great wait staff. Great drink specials, however the restaurant is very loud.
Hip Silver Lake neighborhood restaurant cooks up "Chicano cuisine" and great drink prices. – The Scene Black tile and flocked, red wallpaper create a minimalist but hipster-friendly vibe that the former Cobalt Cantina could never capture. No longer predominantly gay, straight Eastsiders on first dates and oversized birthday parties comprise an equal percentage of the clientele. Service is competent, but it's surprisingly difficult to get extra dishes or silverware for sharing. The Food A pan-Latin menu finds success with the... read more
Fun, but food's merely OK. – ost plates are comparable to what you'd get at Mexican versions of Denny's (not bad, cheap, but not nearly gourmet quality). Suffice to say that LAweekly and others get it right when they mention fresh chips and (excellent) salsas as highlights. Service, although friendly, was annoyingly slow; everything took 5 minutes. Finally, music is loud inside, and not very good (numetal tracks in a Mexican restaurant?) Funny enough, Id still recommend the place: it's cheap, the food's decent, pretty single... read more
