I’ve had a few ukulele lessons with Rupert. Excellent teacher (and you need to be with me as the one learning), very patient and great sense of humour. It feels like you are playing/learning with an old friend, lovely guy. Plus a great place to buy a ukulele. I can’t rate him highly enough. Thanks Rupert Andy

We've bought 2 ukuleles from them (as well a a few other bits and pieces) and both times it was the most pleasant experience. Rupert is super knowledgeable and will really try to tailor his advice to suit your playing style. They never pressure or try to upsell you on an instrument and they are very happy for you to take a lot of time thinking, infact they actively try to make sure you are sure you are getting the perfect instrument for you even if that means you end up spending a lot less than you budgeted for. Just popped in today 03.06.23 and found a replacement Savon de Marseille for our kitchen French Pro Vendi holder. Big win as last replaced many years ago. Verbena version smells wonderful too. Thanks Rupert and Anita. D x

Other ukulele shops may appear to carry more stock but Rupert at Maker Maker has selected the best sounding ukuleles at each price point from Makala to Martin. Anyone with an interest in playing from beginner upwards should definitely drop in for a chat. There looked to be a couple of interesting cafes nearby so get out there and have a look!
