About this business
Specialties Bringing Broadway-caliber musical theater performances to Mid Coast Maine. History Established in 1959. In 1959, Victoria Crandall founded the Brunswick Summer Playhouse as a commercial venture in order to present and preserve the best of musical theatre. In 1967, the name was changed to the Brunswick Music Theatre. In 1978, BMT became a not-for-profit theatre. In 1988, the organization officially became Maine State Music Theatre.

The shows are always a blast!! I've been going since I was a little girl with my mom and Nana. Now I get to bring my daughter as well, 4 generations!! All SMILES :)

Just a wonderful experience every time! I moved to Freeport, Maine, only three years ago and am so glad MSMT is here, only 15 minutes away. I saw "Guys and Dolls" today and it was wonderful...can't say enough good things about the cast, costumes, sets, choreography...everything is incredible! Charis Leos (Miss Adelaide) is always an absolute hoot and I hope James Beaman (Nathan Detroit) comes back! ;)
