Specialties Bringing Broadway-caliber musical theater performances to Mid Coast Maine. History Established in 1959. In 1959, Victoria Crandall founded the Brunswick Summer Playhouse as a commercial venture in order to present and preserve the best of musical theatre. In 1967, the name was changed to the Brunswick Music Theatre. In 1978, BMT became a not-for-profit theatre. In 1988, the organization officially became Maine State Music Theatre.

I've seen many, many performances at the MSMT and have never been disappointed. They always find a way to improve on perfection. If you get the chance to see a show, don't pass it up and absolutely consider becoming a subscriber. You won't be sorry.
