Specialties Bringing Broadway-caliber musical theater performances to Mid Coast Maine. History Established in 1959. In 1959, Victoria Crandall founded the Brunswick Summer Playhouse as a commercial venture in order to present and preserve the best of musical theatre. In 1967, the name was changed to the Brunswick Music Theatre. In 1978, BMT became a not-for-profit theatre. In 1988, the organization officially became Maine State Music Theatre.

I took my daughter and granddaughters - three generations of girls - to the Sunday night performace of Mamma Mia, and we all LOVED it! Wonderful singing and dancing! A must see!
