Specialties Bringing Broadway-caliber musical theater performances to Mid Coast Maine. History Established in 1959. In 1959, Victoria Crandall founded the Brunswick Summer Playhouse as a commercial venture in order to present and preserve the best of musical theatre. In 1967, the name was changed to the Brunswick Music Theatre. In 1978, BMT became a not-for-profit theatre. In 1988, the organization officially became Maine State Music Theatre.

This show was a million dollars worth of entertainment! Phenomenal performances by Johnny, Carl, Elvis, and Jerry Lee! You can’t sit still! There was a whole lot of shaking going on this afternoon!!
